So I'm in Cape Breton for a brief summer weekend getaway. And I'm walking down Charlotte Street in Sydney, as I tend to do when visiting, when I notice a CLOSING sign in the window of a favourite store. I store I've frequented for years on August visits. When they usually begin to pull out the Halloween merchandise.
So naturally, I hurry inside.
And not a moment too soon.
Not much is left. The end is near. And what remains has an unmistakable Christmas aura. But in the midst of the remnants, I did manage to acquire a new haunted house for the season.

I love a good old haunted house which you can lit. The earliest time I saw Halloween advertised was in mid-August in Montreal, in a stationary shop of all places. I guess it makes it more attractive than "back to school" advertisements. Here is the picture I took of it anyway:

A shame the store is closing, but I'm glad you scooped some goodies.
