scarecrow in springtime

Typically, throughout the winter and early spring, I experience a dearth of Halloween.  Too cold and wet for my workshop (which doubles as my backyard).  And not a pumpkin in sight.

And then, I stumble upon a sight like this on a neighbourhood walk.  And my faith is restored.

Getting home late from the party.  Or preparing early.   Either way, it made my night.

Such a happy surprise!

I was walking my dog around the neighborhood a couple days ago and went a different way. As we went along, a bright spot of orange caught my attention - someone still had a JOL planter on their front porch! Then to my delight, 2 houses down from the JOL had a large spider hanging from their siding! I was delighted!
