inspiration

These past months have reminded me just how unconducive full-time work is to hobbies. And certainly to blogging. The period of time during which I was unemployed (or between jobs, to use a happier term) was a halcyon time for me (except for that pesky reduced income). Otherwise, my days were my own. My schedule was uncluttered. The possibilities were endless. Since my return to work, that hasn't quite been the case.

But as I struggle to bring balance to my life, I turn to the Internet for inspiration. And nothing is more inspiring than vintage Halloween imagery. In keeping with my witchery theme for Halloween 2011, I've been considering attempting to give it a vintage appearance. Emphasis on the word "attempting". Because my best-laid Halloween plans often have a way of going . . . awry.

I LOVE the way your decorate for Halloween. I have no doubt in my mind, the way you are so detailed with decorating for Halloween, this year will be your best yet. And I cannot wait to see what your displays will look like. KUDOS, my Halloween friend!

Also, the witch cut-out is a real blast from my past. My elementary school teacher used to hang this in front of her classroom door every Halloween. Thanks for sharing!

It's tough working full-time and keeping up with blogging AND crafting. Sometimes you'll get a lot done, and sometimes you won't get anything done. The key is to try and just go with it instead of stressing when you just don't have the time or energy.

Good luck!

I could not agree more. My workload has nearly doubled and I find I have no time for anything anymore. It is depressing in a way, and has kept my blog still for way too long. I guess at some point things will level off and I can return to planning, prop building and posting..but until then its work, work, work. Btw- I think you can pull off the vintage witch thing-great idea.

I do love your decorations. You can see the love you put into each prop, that is why I love seeing what other haunters create. Makes me smile.

So looking forward to seeing your new 2011 creations!!!

Cheers!
