And best of all, a smaller than usual crowd means more leftovers. They will factor prominently in my recovery from a weekend which saw Halloween collide with Hal-Con. I'm exhausted.

aftermath
A night that, according to a solid week of weather forecasts, was supposed to be dry but cold, turned out instead to be rainy but mild. There were still over 100 intrepid trick-or-treaters, but the night began to wind down earlier than usual as the rain intensified. No matter. I remained dry on my porch. And everyone seemed to enjoy the haunted garden. Even the unintentionally-cute grasshopper. Interestingly enough, some of the most enthusiastic and heartfelt comments came from 13 year-old boys.

And best of all, a smaller than usual crowd means more leftovers. They will factor prominently in my recovery from a weekend which saw Halloween collide with Hal-Con. I'm exhausted.

oh yeah! get with posting the hal-con details! I actually talked about your mastery of costume on Saturday when someone remarked a party goer looked like a jawa.
You know you've done something right with halloween decor when 13 year old boys think it's cool.
Trade you some of my sour patch kids for your chocolate.
Congrats on surviving another Halloween!!!
Cheers!
I wish I could eat a booty of treats like this. I miss trick or treating a lot!
Our weather was perfect, but due to the location of the house (being at the farthest end of a street at the farthest end of the town) we had LESS THAN 30 TOTers, sadly. But, like yourself, I have PLENTY of leftover treats. 100 Grand, anyone?
GF - Hal-Con was very successful for a first attempt. I'll be doing a post once I recover and sort through 100 or so photos. As for the candy, no trades! :)
FQ, Guillaume and Necropolis - It was a successful year despite the rain. And the leftovers are going fast. :D
