In the calm before yesterday's storm, I took a walk and noticed a few crisp autumn leaves still hanging on bravely despite the frigidity in the air. I must return to see if any survived the nor'easter.
That is so endearingly lovely; it's wonderful when signs of nature's once verdant side are able to somehow, almost miraculously, hold on through the gripping harshness of winter. Perhaps it is symbolic of the hope so many have the coming year.
Wishing you a beautiful & serene weekend, my friend! ♥ Jessica
Your blog makes me feel SO good! I've been so stressed about a lot of things, the least of which is the holiday season, and when I clicked on your blog this morning, I looked at your header photo, and felt the tension just draining away.
I love Halloween, and your image made me feel good once again, and brought another smile to my face! I LOVE that photo!!
Then your shot of that one lone touch of color against the starkness of winter, and the kinks in my neck relaxed.
I love walking in wooded areas, especially when there is water nearby, frozen or fluid. But I've been unable to do so for a long time now, and you brought it all back to me with one image!

Lovely picture, very atmospheric.
What a beautiful river! A wonderful place to walk and discover what little things Nature has to show you.

THANK YOU!!!
Thank you for your wonderful comments everyone :)
I saw that little leaf and it seemed to embody all of autumn (and Halloween) struggling to hang on in the January cold.
Awww...I almost feel sorry for that hardy little leaf.
